Saturday nights gig was with The Lee Aaron Band at The Rising Sun in Slough. This fine venue is the home to many great gigs, and I am pleased to say that the LAB motorcade made its way to Slough on this fine day.
After leaving the peace and sanctuary of my cave, I 'hopped' in my Spritzer and was soon on the M4 to where the rock was situated for the night. I was the second one to arrive, with Bal and Lal arriving just before me and the setup stroke preparation began.
With a smaller setup that the jam night, and being in the 'reverse cowgirl' position I was soon setup and the rock began!
We had decided that the best plan of 'action' was a rock-ular based choice of songs, and this is exactly what we did! We rocked the house down with lots of our favourite songs! I was extra specially pleased with my reading of 'Parisienne Walkways', which was captured on tape - a VHSC cam-corder I believe. I must also mention that Rough Justice's own Dangerous Dave was in attendance, complete with Mike Dolbear evidence stroke footage.
As the night came to a close, we really did get the assembled dancing about, jigging and jumping incorporating boogie! I must also thank drunk bloke who nearly pushed the Peavey HiSys 1 tower over, which luckily I managed to catch mid-song!
The only regret of the evening was once again the absence of our manager and business partner Luke. Luke, the Pete Best of the Lee Aaron Band was nowhere to be seen, and I personally think he is planning a duo project with Barry O'Connell.
With Lee's cymbal stand well and truly 'cattled', I packed up to leave the boys on a key-babb hunt. I made my excuses and left.
Lets hope Dyno-Rod can sort it out!
