Thursday nights gig was with He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in Castle Greyskull.
I AM THE POWER!!!!!!
After a nice relaxing jaunt to Slough, I met up with the 'lads' and soon we were ready to rock and jam.
Sadly, the evening was spoilt initially by a late start due to some trivial sport rubbish. I had it on good authority that they had done away with these footballs, and the chav fuelled nonsense would never rear its ugly head and spoil superior gigs. Sadly this was not the case, and we had to wait until the Neanderthals had waved their coloured scarf's, shouted and be drunk before the important main event of the night - the jamming.
After a solus song from the jam night boys, we were soon 'getting people up' to join us. And what a turn out! A literaly who's who of the local 'scene'. Sets from Cindi, Matey from the Julia Set, Lefty John in 'Full Body' capacity, Johnny D, Matey, Ed, Matey from Netherworld, The Mighty Lee Aaron and James Reece.
On the subject of Reece's, THWMIR and TNWMIR Gary Reece was in attendance, flanked by his own flesh and blood on the techno-bass. Pretend Pop Star Mark Chudley was not in attendance, and his commitment has been questioned.
This weeks sandwiches were coronation chicken in wraps and white bread. All of you out there will be pleased to know that this is a favourite of Dangerous Dave, and in fact forms a staple part of his diet.
However highlight of the night was our very own Shroomy Sue on the drums! It must be said that when she sat behind the kit, I was very surprised and really did not know what to expect! But crikey O'Reilly, Sue blew us all away with her skills!! She was acompanied by local guitar hero Pars on the shiny Ibanez in a fabulous reading of 'Numb'. She literally brought the house down with her drum roll! And if that was not enough, Sue later showed off her musicianship skills by doing a set on guitar!
Sadly the floods and the rain's came as the evening wore on, and washed away most of the punters, but I am pleased to say that I participated in the traditional Adrian 'Purple Rain' ending, which Big Man 'Bal' Browning said was the finest one to date.
As I dodged the rain drops, and disappointed at the fact I could not Dangerous Dash, I headed home happy the sap got washed off.
I am too full for the doughnuts!
