Thursday nights gig was with jam, marmalade and conserve experts DD, SIJ, PAPOS, MM and C at the RS in S.
What a beginning to the nights jamming antics stroke festivities! Due to some traffic dilemma, it took me well in excess of an hour and half to arrive at the 'Sun! I was gutted, and filled with some rage and loathing! Thankfully, due to my reg-ular timely departure, I arrived only 20 minutes late for the setup procedure and Sir Ian Jam told me of his woes too, creating some kind of 'commuting blues' ahead of the night of music!
I once again elected to use my Brian May guitar, and have firmly come to the conclusion that a plastic pic is the best option.
I am pleased to say that a number of our jam night friends chose to spend their Thursday in our warm company. After taking their coats and laying them on the bed, we made them drinks offered them a vol-au-ent and set about the most important task of the evening - jamming!
Sets tonight featured an adventurous Steven on bass, Man Tats, Gibson Brother Steve and a special appearance from Big Man Bal, complete with his young ward Lee Aaron on the Drums! We also welcomed THWMIR and TNWMIR Gary Reece, and Cindi of Red Rocket fame. 'Fully Body but Headless' Lefty John joined us on guitar, and once again Shroomy Sue joined us on drums - is there no end to her talents! Ed also joined us on the drums.
This weeks sandwiches were Coronation chicken and frankfurter on white bread with crisps and salad garnish. As you will all remember from last week, Coronation chicken is Dangerous's favourite and I am pleased to announce this fine filling has featured in my granary luncheon rolls this week to honour him.
Pretend Pop Star Mark Chudley was in attendance, and made a rare playing appearance on the Slough stage. However thanks to the devils own invention - the floating bridge, PPSMC was not correctly represented. This created a lot of distress for all of us, and we all hope that in the elections for the European Parliament these cruel devices are finally outlawed.
The evening ended with the tradtional Adrian Purple Rain finale, and I think it rained.
All in all, a fine jam night with all the people who make it special week in - week out.
I am not human, Sookie - I am Vampire!
